More than five years ago, a tradition was dreamed up by a small, talented group of designers and homeowners - to create a beautiful showcase of holiday spirit in the Exeter area, and at the same time, to fund a long-standing desire to help neighbors in need.
Thanks to the work of Carol, Jaye, Pam, Renee and Robin, The Exeter Area Holiday House Tour was born in 2014, and became a local sensation, landing a segment on TV, newspaper articles, and attracting hundreds of people to the Exeter area in early December. Due to the popularity of the event, the Holiday House Tour quickly became the single greatest funding source for Womenade of Greater Squamscott. Womenade’s mission is to provide swift, anonymous financial help for neighbors living in the SAU 16 district who are experiencing a serious short term crisis. Through the impact of the Holiday House Tour funds, hundreds of local families have been saved. This year, the Board members of Womenade of Greater Squamscott are managing the Holiday House Tour event, filling the big shoes of the original founders, and it promises to be an exciting year as we continue this well loved tradition.
